Oberhausen, Germany, 10 January, 2024 – ACCESS Europe GmbH today announces that ACCESS Twine™ for Car (Twine4Car) In-Vehicle Infotainment (IV) solution features in CES demonstrations with multiple companies at the show this year (Las Vegas, 9-12 January).
The demonstrations include:
Bosch: At CES 2024, Bosch is showcasing its recently announced cockpit [&] ADAS integration platform which demonstrates the fusion of infotainment and driver assistance functions in a software-intensive central computer on a single SoC. The Twin4Car Automotive Appstore is integrated in this vehicle computer and can be experienced by invitation only in the Bosch tech room in Central Hall.
TomTom: The CES demonstration of the Twine4Car IVI automotive infotainment (IVI) platform will showcase how the Twine4Car White-labelled Automotive Appstore is integrated into TomTom Digital Framework offering a myriad of audio, video, social, utility, communication and POI apps/services designed and adapted for in-car usage.
MediaTek: CES 2024 will see the first demonstration of this partnership as the two companies are expanding their successful collaboration to provide the automotive industry with an integrated solution combining MediaTek chipsets with a car-centric app store and in-car entertainment platform from ACCESS.
“CES 2024 will see demos of how we’re driving forward the next generation of IVI experiences with companies such as Bosch, TomTom and MediaTek,” says Masahiro Aono, CEO, ACCESS Europe. “It’s our mission and that of our partners to enable automotive OEMs to build stronger relationships with car users and make every journey more fun. Visitors to CES 2024 will see how ACCESS is enabling the auto industry to make the most of connected car experiences.”
The Twine4Car Platform and App Store enables app developers to broaden their reach into the emerging in-car entertainment industry and deliver services quickly and efficiently with minimal effort due to support for both APKs and HTML5-based apps. ACCESS’ Twine4Car system is a content aggregation platform that brings together the latest in IVI technology and premium content in OEM-branded interfaces.
As the next generation of IVI platforms are deployed, OEMs need more than just audio services and navigation. Video services are difficult to license and certify, and games will always be a ‘go-to’ for a busy family or drivers wishing to relax when their car is charging. Twine4Car simplifies IVI deployment by acting as a central hub for all in-vehicle services through bringing content from global media partners, providing a wide range of apps, TV services, VOD offerings, and car-centric information and transaction services for automotive OEMs. It is a flexible solution that will work on any OS, including Android, Linux, and QNX-based systems, and fully supports digital rights management (DRM) to enable premium video services. Other features in Twine4Car include:
- Twine App Store: A dedicated hybrid in-car app store (HTML5 and native) enables OEMs to make a wide selection of apps available to drivers and passengers within their own branded in-car platform.
- Native Android app support: Allows the seamless integration of native applications, creating an immersive user experience via the OEM-branded IVI interface. This enables OEMs to fully control the services and create an ideal UX for native apps and embedded or API-based services.
- Sync Play: Enables multiple devices to synchronize playback, allowing passengers to enjoy content on the screen in front of them at the same time as others in the car.
- Parental/Remote Control: Along with content-related control from any screen in the vehicle, Twine4Car can put parents in charge of the type and length of content consumed by their children.
